A man is in custody after a robbery.

Edward Phillips was charged with assault and robbery in Rochester High Street last Friday.

A mobile phone and a wallet containing cash were reportedly stolen from a man and Phillips was arrested that day.

Phillips, 34, of Meadow Bank Road, Chatham, was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates yesterday.

He will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, October 30.
