Murder suspect Agris Titans
A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murdering his wife who was found strangled at their Rochester home.
Latvian national Agris Titans, 24, stood emotionless in the dock at Medway Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.
He spoke only to confirm his identity through an interpreter.
No application for bail was made and Titans was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at crown court on Tuesday.
The body of his wife, 22-year-old Edite Titane, was found by her sister in a bedroom on Monday morning.
Titans, of Cecil Road, Rochester, was charged with murder by detectives on Friday evening.
Edite's body was found when police were called to a white terraced house in Cecil Road, Rochester, shortly before 10am on Monday.
A murder investigation was launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
A post mortem examination revealed Edite died from asphyxiation after compression of the neck.
Edite is also a Latvian national who moved to Medway in April to be closer to her family.
The pair had been married for three years and had a three-year-old daughter, who is currently with Edite's mother.
