A man was stabbed to death after reportedly being involved in an argument.
Detectives are on the scene of the fatal incident which took place in Fox Street, Gillingham, yesterday afternoon.
Police have now confirmed a 35 year old man was declared dead after emergency services were called to the road near the High Street at 1.10pm.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place later today.
A police spokesman said: "He had suffered injuries consistent with being stabbed after reportedly being involved in an argument in the street with another man."
Officers are scouring the area to look for weapons which may have been thrown away.
So far, no one has been arrested.
Yesterday, a cordon was in place whilst officers dealt with the incident, and an air ambulance landed in a nearby park.
The police cordon was lifted around 1am.
A man living in the road, who did not want to be named, said: "Police were taking witness statements nearer the scene.
"The street is very busy during that time of the day."
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw or heard two men arguing to call 101 quoting reference 20-0860.
