A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with an early morning sexual assault.
Steven Kinsella 38, was charged after a woman reported she was allegedly sexually assaulted as she walked to a friend's home.

The teenager told police she was attacked between 1.30am and 2.15am on Saturday, September 20, near to the junction of Watts Avenue and Maidstone Road.

The 18-year-old was apparently able to get away and alert police who later released CCTV images of a man they wanted to speak to.

She had been on a night out with friends in Rochester High Street and had decided to go to her friend’s house and became separated from the group.

Kinsella, of High Street, Rochester, was arrested on Thursday, September 25 and appeared before magistrates in Medway the next day where he was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, October 17.
