A man has been rescued after falling into a100ft quarry in the early hours of this morning.
The fire service were called at around 3.30am to the site in Common Road, Chatham.
A host of emergency services including fire crews, the technical rescue teams, ambulance service and the the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were needed to reach the person.
He was rescued in a two-hour operation and was left in the care of paramedics, which left at around 6am.
Ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey said: "I can confirm ambulance crews including our Hazardous Area Response Team attended the scene following reports a person had suffered a fall.
"We were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.
"After being rescued, the male patient was assessed and treated for injuries including back pain at the scene before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by road."
