Police were called to Rochester yesterday evening after a reports a man had been assaulted and robbed.

Officers arrived were called to Crow Lane at 8.15pm to a report of a robbery in progress.

It was reported a man was assaulted and had a small amount of cash and a mobile phone taken.

Officers, supported by the police helicopter, carried out a search of the area.

An 18 year old from Rochester was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
