Police want witnesses after a man was reportedly slashed across the stomach by two attackers.

The assault happened in an alleyway off Flaxman Court, Brompton, close to the old Two Brewers pub, between 7.47pm and 7.57pm on Friday.

It is believed two men carried out the attack, which left the victim with two "superficial" cuts to his abdomen.

The suspects are both described as white and aged between 18 and 20. One was wearing a light grey hoodie, with the hood up over his head, and white trainers at the time of the attack.

The other is described as wearing a grey sweatshirt and had short brown hair. He also spoke with a northern accent.
