A man suspected of trafficking women for sexual exploitation has been charged with 13 offences after he was arrested in Europe.
Romas Drulia, 34, of no fixed address, was held while trying to cross the border of Poland and Germany in Sweicko on Wednesday, February 15.
A European arrest warrant had previously been issued.
He was charged with three counts of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, six counts of controlling prostitution for gain and four counts of managing a brothel for prostitution after arriving in the UK at Biggin Hill airport yesterday.
The reported brothels were located in Rochester, Gillingham, Chatham and Maidstone and to have run between April 2013 and October 2015.
He appeared before magistrates at Maidstone this morning and was remanded in custody.
Drulia will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, March 31.
