A security guard has been arrested after an incident at a town centre McDonald's which saw a group of girls verbally abusing staff and customers.
Police were called to the fast-food chain in Week Street, Maidstone, on Sunday evening after reports of a disturbance involving around eight teenagers.
Footage from the incident shows the girls swearing and shouting at McDonald's staff and customers who blocked them from coming into the restaurant after they had been kicked out.
Now, police have confirmed Muhammed Usman, 30, from Lewisham in London, was arrested and later charged with assault with intent to resist arrest.
He has been bailed to appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 10.
Tensions flared in the "lawless" part of the the town centre after the youngsters became unhappy about being removed from the venue, with some claiming staff were heavy handed in removing them.
One girl can be heard shouting "you pulled her by her hair," while another member of the public replied "we saw everything, no he didn't".
"It was absolutely disgusting," said one witness, who didn't want to be named.
"The security guards from McDonald's and other premises had to form a human barrier to stop them coming in - they had ran off and returned three times.
"My partner is pregnant and we had our two-year-old son with us and they just didn't care about anyone else.
"When we went outside and told them to leave it they threw water over us."
The anonymous 23-year-old added: "They came in and sat down and security came over to them after being on the radio and asked them to move.
'They just have no shame and know they can get away with it...'
"After shouting and swearing at him they eventually left before throwing drinks at them and running off.
"Five minutes later they returned and did the same and tried to get in the restaurant."
By this time a group of customers and staff had gathered outside the shop to tell the group of eight to leave and stop causing trouble.
A few had their phones out recording the girls.
On Tuesday a police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at around 5.40pm on Sunday, September 11, to a report of a disturbance at a fast food restaurant in Week Street, Maidstone.
"Officers attended the scene where they spoke to those present. Inquiries are underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
A McDonald's spokesman added: “Providing a safe and welcoming environment for our people and our customers is a priority for us.
"We do not tolerate any anti-social behaviour in our restaurants. We are aware of an incident that took place at our Week Street restaurant Sunday evening.
"The police were called by our restaurant staff and we will continue to support them with any investigation.”
The company has been approached for further comment, but explained the guard has been taken off duty for the weekend.
It is not the first time this year trouble has started outside the fast-food chain this year.
In February, McDonald's defended their security team after a video emerged online of one man tussling with a youth outside the Maidstone town centre site.
