Medway Council will fly the flag for England tomorrow (Saturday) to support our national team in their first World Cup game.
The St George's flag will fly outside Gun Wharf, Chatham, from the morning and will fly on every day England plays.
England’s first group match against the USA kicks off at 8.30pm at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Rustenburg.
Leader of Medway Council, Cllr Rodney Chambers said: "The World Cup is a unique event that so many residents in Medway have been looking forward to.
"We are proud here at the council to get behind the team and we really hope that we can keep hoisting the flag right up until the trophy is lifted."
The FIFA World Cup, held in South Africa, involves 32 nations from across the world and runs until Sunday, July 11.
The flag will be hoisted to celebrate all of England’s matches throughout the tournament. The group games will be taking place on the following dates:
Saturday, 12 June – England Vs USA – 8.30pm
Friday, 18 June – England Vs Algeria – 8.30pm
Wednesday, 23 June – England Vs Slovenia – 4pm
