A motion calling for the resignation of Medway’s education supremo is due to be debated tomorrow night.
The bid for Cllr Les Wicks, cabinet holder for children’s services, to step down is set to be considered at a meeting of Medway councillors.
It has been submitted by Cllr Adam Price, Medway’s Labour group education spokesman, after Medway’s 11-plus fiasco and what he describes as a series of other mistakes.
The exams overran by 90 minutes at both Rainham School for Girls and Chatham Grammar School for Boys because instructions were missing from the English paper.
Medway Council received almost 90 complaints and Cllr Wicks issued an apology to children and parents.
Cllr Price said Cllr Wicks should "do the honourable thing" and step aside.
"It is an amalgamation of things that all points towards someone who is not managing their brief," he said."In the field of education we have only got one portfolio holder.
"There has been a lot of stuff that’s gone awry and he needs to carry the can for it."
