Heavyweight fighter Tom Dallas and other professional boxers have been given the green light to start preparing for a show at Medway Park.
Mark Roe, manager of Chatham star Dallas, pictured, has attempted to organise a show since the summer but two previous attempts failed.
He has now linked up with Southampton-based businessman Simon Williamson, a man with experience of hosting boxing events, and the pair are confident of bringing live professional boxing to Medway.
"Everything is confirmed and everything is in place," said Mr Roe.
The Medway Park venue will have a capacity of 1,500 for the show, planned for Friday, March 18. Dallas will be the headline fight, possibly facing Melton’s Paul Butlin, and also on the bill will be Dartford’s Martin Welsh and Gavin Tait from Sheerness.
Mr Roe has already booked the venue for future events.
"We’ve booked in two more shows already in May and September," he said.
"It’s an ideal venue. We’re hoping for three shows at Medway Park and then we’re still looking at an open air show at Lordswood."
Mr Roe is working on setting up a hot-line for ticket sales. Prices will start at £30 for unreserved seating, £50 ringside and £80 VIP ringside.
