The annual Medway Mile will be Tokyo themed this year, in recognition of the upcoming Olympic games.

The free event will take place on July 24 at Rochester Castle.

There will be a Japanese flavour and this year's sporting activities will be based around Olympic and Paralympic events.

Activities on the day include inflatables, face painting, live entertainment and a fireworks finale.

A one–mile competitive adult race will also be on offer for sub–seven minute male athletes and for sub–nine minute female athletes.

Registration for the competitive race and the Medway Mile will be open in May.
