Brave Luke Titmuss is proud to wear a football shirt bearing the name Lucky Luke.
It was a present from friends who clubbed together after he was knocked down by a car close to his home in Cliffe Woods four weeks ago.
The Chelsea-supporting youngster was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital after suffering a fractured skull, a broken arm, broken shoulder and a broken jaw. His front teeth were pushed through his chin.
Doctors were so worried about his head injury, he was transferred to a specialist unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
He was placed in a induced coma in intensive care to allow any swelling in his head to go down and was breathing with the aid of a respirator.
But the Cliffe Woods Primary School pupil made a miraculous recovery and just over a week he was discharged to the family home in Cardens Road, to the delight of his parents, Renée and Richard and brother Ian, eight.
He is also back at school part-time. Mum Renée said: "We are one lucky family."
Luke was injured as he left the playground in Town Road where he had been playing with friends.
His parents rushed to his side just minutes after he was injured, after a friend knocked on their door to tell them he was laying in the road.
"One teenager, Charlie Buckley was a real hero, he held Luke’s head still for a long time.
"A nurse also pulled up to help and before I knew it the Kent Air Ambulance had landed and then they took over."
Luke’s parents would like to thank everyone who help out at the scene and their friends and neighbours in the community who rallied round to help the family after the incident.
