Medway’s Billy Humphrey scores the first try against Hastings & Bexhill after five minutes
Medway ran in eight tries in a 47-0 romp against London South East Division 3 bottom side Hastings & Bexhill at Priestfields on Saturday.
Three of them came in eight minutes during the second half as the home side stretched their already sizeable lead.
Ben Wadsworth got two, with the others scored by Billy Humphrey, Danny Williams, captain Simon Green, Luke Burns, Colin Chapman and Ollie Cargill. Glen Wadsworth added a penalty and two conversions.
Humphrey got the first after only five minutes, racing in from 20 yards, and then Glen Wadsworth increased the lead to 12-0.
Ben Wadsworth made it 17-0 at half-time, before Williams finished off good work by Glen Wadsworth and Burns.
Green got in on the act with a fine individual effort, before Burns, Colin Chapman and Ben Wadsworth went over in quick succession.
Hastings never gave up, despite the one-sided scoreline, as Cargill finished off a fine move, linked by Dafydd Ruffell.
Arun Sage was named man-of-the-match in his first game followng a lengthy injury lay-off.
