Medway’s household waste and recycling collections on Monday, 11 January have been suspended as the adverse weather continues.
More heavy snow is forecast for this weekend, which will prevent waste collection in minor roads.
A decision about next week’s collections will be made on Monday.
Today’s household waste and recycling collections are being collected, where possible.
Medway Council and its contractor are making every effort to collect waste from all main routes as roads are passable and it is safe to collect waste.
All waste that cannot be collected today will be collected next Friday, 15.
Anyone who was due to have their waste and recycling collected yesterday, will have it collected next Thursday, 14. The situation will be reviewed if the adverse weather continues.
Two of Medway’s three household waste and recycling centres will also remain open for longer during the weekend.
On Saturday, 9 the centres at Cuxton and Gillingham will open from 8am to 5.30pm and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday, 10.
The centres are based at Ambley Road, off Hoath Way, Gillingham and Sundrige Hill, Cuxton.
All collections of garden waste have been suspended from Friday, 8 to Monday, 18, January to enable staff to collect household waste and recycling.
