She got in contact with KentOnline's sister paper the Medway Messenger after reading about 21-year-old dog Lola, a contender for the country's oldest dog.
Miss Buckingham, 42, thought we might like to meet four-year-old Kurt, who was rescued by her as a stray.
He could be crowned the tallest dog in Britain. On all four legs, from paws to shoulder he is 3ft (36in) tall.

When he is out for a walk near his home in Chatham, Miss Buckingham gets stopped by people wanting to find out how tall he is and how much he weighs, which is a massive 11st (70kg).
His devoted owner spends about £100 a month on his diet of raw meat and bones. His favourite treat is chicken feet, and he loves nothing more than being made a fuss of.
Miss Buckingham, who is also a canine behaviour consultant, said: “I think his absolute most favourite thing is cuddles, kisses and meeting new people to slobber all over.
“He loves being stopped in the street for a fuss. He adores other dogs and my cats, Bailey and Truffle. They will often snuggle up with him on his bed.”
Miss Buckingham said Kurt is so lazy he often falls asleep during his Saturday school training sessions, which only take an hour.
She added: “He will just lie down at any given moment, can barely stay awake for the whole hour and is the class clown as he crashes into a heap mid lesson.
“He’s the most loving, soppy, adorable lump, and he has no idea of his size and will just lie all over you and flatten you.”
