A trio of suspected burglars have been arrested thanks to the help of a member of the public.
Police were patrolling the Parkwood area in Gillingham after reports garage blocks were being targeted late one night.
At 10.50pm on Sunday, the group were spotted acting suspiciously by a passerby who alerted the police.
The tip-off helped police who subsequently arrested three teenagers in Lordswood on suspicion of burglary and being equipped to steal.
Balaclavas, gloves, and a handful of tools were also seized.
The suspects, a man aged 19, a woman aged 18, and a 17-year-old boy were later bailed to return to the police station on April 7 while the investigations continue.
Inspector Mick Hayes said: “In this case, a quick-thinking and public-spirited person contacted us when they spotted some people acting suspiciously.
“As our constables were in the area, they were able to respond promptly to the call, and three suspects were arrested and taken into custody.”
