Two men allegedly found with vehicle parts, tools and keys have been arrested in connection with car thefts.
Yesterday afternoon officers from the Tactical Operations Unit stopped a suspicious vehicle, believed to be involved in crime, in Maidstone Road, Bredhurst, near Gillingham.
It was stopped and following a search, officers found vehicle parts, suspected to be stolen, as well as tools and keys.
Further enquiries led to a quantity of cash and other car keys being seized.
A police spokesman said: "Two 23-year-old men from Gillingham were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and handling stolen goods.
"One of the men was further arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with an incident in Rainham which had taken place the night before.
"Both men were released on bail until April 7 pending further inquiries."
