Alison High from Rainham reunited with Moloko the cat after seven and a half week search

A cat owner is over-joyed after being reunited with her beloved moggy Moloko, who was missing for seven and a half weeks.

We previously reported how Alison High, from Rainham, walked over 200 miles and drove a further 400 in a bid to find her cat.

It was thanks to that article that Moloko was found in the garden of a property in Marshall Road, Gillingham.

Last Tuesday, February 12, Miss High was visiting a friend when someone reported a possible sighting.

"My phone went and the man said, 'I saw your article in the Medway Messenger and I think your cat has been in my garden for the last three or four weeks.'" she said.

The 48 year old children's nanny said she then sent the man some photos of Moloko and he confirmed that he thought it was her.

Miss High then headed over to the house and coaxed the cat out of a bush.

"I looked into the bush and it was like she came out in slow motion and I burst into tears."

She took Moloko to get checked over at the vets and the vet confirmed that it was her cat using her microchip.

Moloko had lost a little weight, but was perfectly healthy.

"How she survived all that wind, and goodness knows where she was when we had all that snow."

Their reunion coincided with a happy anniversary; she picked up Moloko and her sister Mica on Valentine's Day 2014.

"I am completely overwhelmed by the kindness I have got online and if it wasn't for the Kent Messenger doing an article, then I wouldn't have been reunited with her."

Moloko slipped out of a tiny window which was slightly ajar on Friday, December 21, shortly after Miss High had moved from Hertfordshire to Dorset Square, Rainham.

Miss High spent £500 on printing 6,000 posters which she posted around Rainham and Twydall.
