Officers searching for a missing man say they have found a body.

Police had been looking for Charles Colley, 60, from Gillingham, after he disappeared earlier this week.

Today the force confirmed the body of a 60-year-old man had been found in Rochester.

Mr Colley's family have been notified but formal identification is still under way.

Police had been spotted scouring Blue Bell Hill for him yesterday.

It was believed he had been seen close by in Maidstone Road, Chatham, on Monday.

Officers have thanked those who shared their earlier appeal to find him.
