Children in Medway could get another day to do the Medway Test this year.
Medway Council is proposing some changes to the school admissions scheme for 2022 which may involve offering one more day for youngsters to do the exam.
The Medway Test is taken by children looking to attend grammar schools in the Medway Towns.
A council report presented to cabinet members suggests a move to add in a day - possibly on Sunday, September 19 or Saturday, September 25 - which will be for pupils from out of the area and those with special requirements.
The aim of the proposal is to ensure there is fewer pupils in the centre each time the exam is sat.
The other dates when children are due to take the test in their schools are: Tuesday, September 14, Wednesday, September 15 and Saturday, September 18.
Another change to the admissions for both primary and secondary school places is the supply of supporting medical information, which officers want to be provided directly to schools rather than to the council.
The proposals were sent to head teachers and governors last year, and were also open to public consultation in October, however, this received no responses.
Cabinet members will decide whether to implement the changes during a virtual meeting on Tuesday, January 12.
The application period for the Medway Test is due to open in June.
Last year, 3,387 children took the test.
