One of the biggest British R&B singer-songwriters of the 70s and 80s is coming to Rochester this summer.

Grammy award winning Billy Ocean is the latest act to be announced for the Castle Gardens this summer.

Pop singer Peter Andre and boyband Blue were announced yesterday while rockers Status Quo were revealed on Friday via a Facebook video message from Francis Rossi himself.

Billy will be the headline act for the much-loved penultimate Castle Concerts show, which over the years has earned itself the title of Party Night.

And to add to the party atmosphere on Friday, July 17, BBC Radio 2's Sara Cox will get the crowd moving with a video DJ set.

This will be followed by Eurovision skirt-whipping favourites Cheryl, Mike and Jay, formerly of Bucks Fizz who revealed last month they would be performing, ahead of the official announcement.

Get ready to dance along to all Billy's hits including When the Going Gets Tough, Love Really Hurts Without You, and Get Out of My Dreams (Get Into My Car).

With more than 30 millions record sales worldwide and having topped the singles and album charts in the UK, USA, Australia, Germany and Holland, fans can get up close in this intimate venue and see the star perform live.

Tickets for Billy Ocean’s Friday night party go on sale on Wednesday, March 25, at 10am.
