A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after crashing into a roundabout in Hoo.

The man, who is believed to be in his 40s, injured his leg in the accident at junction between Bell's Lane and Dux Court Road on the A228 Peninsula Way.

He was taken to a London hospital.

The road was closed in both directions for just over an hour while emergency services were on the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 10.18am to a report that a motorcycle had collided with a roundabout on Bell’s Lane, Hoo.

"The rider – a man in his 40s – sustained an injury to his leg and is being taken to a London hospital."
