A motorist has admitted failing to stop following an accident in Rochester which left a teenage cyclist injured.
Saroop Singh, 31, was arrested after the 16-year-old suffered head injuries. His bike and a blue Ford Fiesta collided in Delce Road, on Monday, November 21, last year.
The accident happened at about 8.40pm and the teenager, who was not named, suffered severe head injuries.
Police closed the road for several hours to investigate. The cyclist was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, in Gillingham.
Officers found the Fiesta nearby shortly afterwards and launched a hunt to find the driver.
The next day they arrested Singh, of King Street, Rochester, on suspicion of dangerous driving, but he was later charged with failing to stop after an accident.
He appeared before magistrates in Medway yesterday and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentencing reports to be prepared and Singh will be sentenced at the same court on Tuesday, March 21.
Singh was granted bail until then.
