A driver has been arrested after being involved in a crash with a lorry.

Police were called just after 4am this morning to a collision between a VW Golf and an HGV, on the London bound carriageway of the M2 near junction 4 for Gillingham.

The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and he is currently in custody.

The passenger was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
