Drivers were told to expect delays due to a second accident along the M2 today.

The incident involving a car and a van left one lane closed and queueing traffic along the motorway.

It happened on the London bound stretch near to Junction 5, for Sittingbourne and Maidstone, and Junction 4 for Gillingham.

The incident has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.

The accident occurred at the same location as the crash involving two vans and a car which blocked the coastbound carriageway this morning.

There have been no serious injuries reported.
