A budget supermarket has reopened after a widespread mouse infestation was discovered in the bakery aisle.
Aldi in Duncan Road, Gillingham, was closed on Friday morning and is believed to have re-opened on Sunday afternoon.
Officers from Medway Council issued the store with a closure notice after the infestation of rodents was discovered.
A Medway Council spokesperson said at the time: “Officers from Medway Council’s Food and Safety team have issued the Aldi store in Gillingham with a formal closure notice after a widespread mouse infestation on the premises located in the bakery aisle.
"This was deemed to present a significant risk of contamination of food and hence a risk to public health."
An Aldi spokesman said: "We took immediate action and worked with the council to successfully resolve this issue. The store is now open as normal.
"We are sorry to customers for the inconvenience caused."
