Eurosceptic Mark Reckless thinks the Euro will "break up in the next couple of years" after the Prime Minister's dramatic treaty veto.
The Rochester and Strood MP made the prediction in the aftermath of Mr Cameron's decision to vote against European Union changes.
Mr Cameron blocked alterations to the Lisbon Treaty, including more regulation of the City of London, arguing they were not in Britain's national interest.
The move has put the country's relationship with Europe "on a new course", Mr Reckless said, adding: "The Prime Minister has shown he is as good as his word and done what he promised - and that's so important to restoring trust in politics.
"The most likely outcome for the Euro is that it will break up in my opinion and people will be able to afford to go on holiday to Greece and Spain again. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Euro break in the next couple of years."
