More than 50 acts will bring a feast of live music to Medway venues over four days for the fourth Homespun festival.
Established in 2013 by a small, independent, not-for-profit group of promoters and creatives, the festival celebrates the wealth of musical talent on Medway’s doorstep, mixing emerging and established local artists with guest performers from outside the area.
This year’s Homespun is dedicated to co-founder Louise Micklewright, who passed away earlier this year.
Gigs start today (Wednesday) at The Ship Inn, in Court Lodge Road, Gillingham, where music will be provided by Tom Hingley and Wheels from 8pm.
It continues tomorrow at Sun Pier House in Chatham, where the line- up includes Xylaroo, Rachel Lowrie, Maggie Zenwa and folk headliners The Flowing.
On Friday, Sun Pier House will welcome the Senior Service, Len Price 3 and Medway favourites Theatre Royal, while there will be a packed line-up at Chatham’s Poco Loco from 8pm, including And So it Goes, Frau Pouch, Screen Wives, Skinny Milk and Teal.
The same night, singer-songwriter Jack Cade will perform a solo set of gritty self-penned songs at The Ship Inn from 8pm.
Saturday will provide a wealth of talent, with acts performing at Dot Cafe in Rochester High Street between 2pm and 6pm.
Saturday’s gigs will be held at various venues as follows:
