A Muslim convert accused of plotting a terror attack on Oxford Street will face trial later this year.
Lewis Ludlow, 26, carried out reconnaissance, researched potential targets and searched for rental vans, it is claimed.
The terror suspect also allegedly planned to travel to the Philippines for terrorist purposes.
Ludlow, of Warren Wood Road, Rochester, appeared at the Old Bailey today for a preliminary hearing via video link from high-security Belmarsh prison.
Wearing a black t-shirt and green skull cap, he spoke to confirm his name, age and nationality as British.
Ludlow is charged with two counts of preparation of terrorist acts.
He also faces one count of arranging money or property for the purposes of terrorism between March 15 and April 19 this year.
The charge sheet alleges he bought flights from London to Zamboanga, Philippines and travelled to Heathrow Airport on and before March 2 this year.
He spoke to someone about his travel plans, used encrypted apps and conducted out internet research, it is said.
The second charge of preparation of terrorist acts is dated between March 15 and April 19 2017.
He allegedly purchased a phone in the name of Dean Ludlow and swore an oath of allegiance to Al Baghdadi and Daesh.
The indictment alleges he wrote out attack plans and engaged in reconnaissance of terrorist attack targets.
He also researched London venues as potential targets and researched van rental and hotel accommodation, it adds.
Mr Justice Haddon-Cave set a trial date for October 22, which is expected to last four to six weeks and will take place before a senior judge.
A plea and case management hearing will take place on August 10.
Ludlow was remanded in custody.
