NatWest is set to close its branch in Gillingham High Street in June this year.
A sign put up at the branch states it will close on June 14, and the bank has confirmed the closure, explaining counter transactions at the branch decreased by 41% between 2017 and 2019.
They also note the branch was used by only 17 customers on a regular basis in 2019.
A NatWest spokesperson said: “As with many industries, most of our customers are shifting to mobile and online banking, because it’s faster and easier for people to manage their financial lives.
“We understand and recognise that digital solutions aren’t right for everyone or every situation, and that when we close branches we have to make sure that no one is left behind.
“We take our responsibility seriously to support the people who face challenges in moving online, so we are investing to provide them with support and alternatives that work for them.”
For customers that require face to face banking, the nearest NatWest branch is two miles away in Chatham, although customers can also access services via the Post Office in Gillingham.
