A popular restaurant set in a 17th century barn is set to become the latest location for curry lovers.
The Barn in Lower Rainham Road, has been sold and is being turned into an Indian restaurant.
The new owners have not been revealed but it has been confirmed its name will change.
The business went on the market in September last year and The Barn will close on the first weekend in April.
The current owners, husband and wife team Sarah and Damon Dalmedo have been there for 15 years.
The couple, who previously owned a restaurant in Rainham High Street, are launching an outside catering company and also have plans for a pop-up restaurant.
Mr Dalmedo said: “We have put a lot of passion and love into the business and really enjoyed our time at the restaurant, but we have decided we are ready to begin a new chapter in our lives.”
The property went on the market with Christie & Co for £595,000 last year
Meanwhile, plans for houses alongside the Three Mariners pub next door are moving forward.
Planning permission was granted in 2015 for four three-bedroom homes on what was part of the pub’s car park.
The land in the car park has been sectioned off with houses at one end.
