New homes are being built as part of a town’s waterfront regeneration project.
Medway Development Company, which is Medway Council’s building arm, will be launching three new Build to Rent (BTR) blocks in Chatham this year.
Orion Wharf, Ardent Wharf, and Conway Wharf, in Medway Street, will consist of 85 homes including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments – some of which will have private balconies.
Each block will be built to high energy efficiency standards with EPC ratings are expected to range from B to C.
Homes will be available to move into in Ardent Wharf and Orion Wharf in the Spring, and in Conway Wharf in the Summer.
Rent costs will differ depending on the property size and which floor the property is on, with the studio apartments starting at £995pcm.
One-bedroom apartments will be available from £1,300pcm and two-bedroom apartments will start at £1,500pcm.
Two penthouse apartments with private terraces with a waterfront view will also available from £1,725pcm.
Pioneer Wharf, a block consisting of 71 homes, was also launched last year with the first people moving into the building in October.
It consists of seven studio apartments, 13 one-bedroom apartments and 51 two-bedroom apartments
The second phase of properties on floors 4-9 launched at the beginning of November, which are available to view and move into straight away. More properties have also been launched this month.
Rent costs start at £1,125pcm for studios, £1,300 pcm for one-bedroom apartments and £1,500pcm for two-bedroom apartments.
Half of the block is currently occupied.
