No bowl of Cherries for Browning

MIDFIELDER Marcus Browning, released by Gillingham at the weekend, won't be joining Bournemouth. Cherries' manager Sean O'Driscoll said the club had lost interest in the player following lengthy discussions.

The south coast club wanted to assess Browning in Saturday's pre-season friendly against Manchester United but the player declined. He is currently back training with Gillingham.

Meanwhile, Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has released striker Stuart Douglas who had been training with the club since the start of pre-season and been among the goals.

"He was as good as gold about it and I gave him a good reference," stressed Hessenthaler.
