Cars had to be towed to safety from an outdoor cinema event when the venue turned into a quagmire.
Nightflix Drive-in Cinema had to cancel the private screening event in a field off Spade Lane, Rainham, and bring in a tow truck to help people leave the venue.
The company confirmed six cars had be towed out of the mud to safety.
A statement added: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we made the decision to cancel last night’s private screening in the Rainham location due to the field becoming severely waterlogged.
"One hundred cars attended, of which 70 were allowed into the premises before we evaluated the situation further and came to the conclusion that cancellation was necessary to keep our customer's interests at heart.
"We pride ourselves on our reputation and want to ensure we never provide an unsatisfactory experience for ticket holders.
"Prior to the screening we ensured all precautions were covered, including a track matting we had laid prior to the event as well as a tow truck kept on standby, in case any of our customers' vehicles became stuck.

"Along with our deepest apologies we have refunded all customers with immediate effect and have cancelled all upcoming screenings at the Rainham site, and we are contacting customers with a personalised email and explanation.
"Our main priority is to keep our customers’ interests at heart and we apologise for the inconvenience.
"We have issued our customers that had screenings booked for Rainham with complimentary tickets to our new venue once it is secured in 2021 and cannot wait to see them there."
One nearby resident, who did not wish to be identified, said people in the area had been told around 200 tickets had been sold for the private screening.
But they said the event had turned into "chaos", adding: "Unfortunately, the field on which the event was due to take place was unable to hold this amount of cars.
"In addition, the field was waterlogged and a tow truck had to be brought in to tow the vehicles out of the field. The surrounding lanes were blocked and finally the event could not take place at all and was cancelled."
