Police have closed a busy route after a vehicle overturned in a serious crash.

There are traffic delays on the A228 Rochester Road in Cuxton this evening following the incident before 7pm today.

The road has been closed in both directions with traffic being directed.

There are reports of heavy traffic in the area due to the incident between Bush Road and Pilgrims Road.

It comes after an earlier multi-vehicle accident just a few minutes further along the A228 when there was a crash at St Peters Bridge at Halling. Delays there have now cleared.

Police have been contacted for more information.
