A convicted child abuser travelled more than 150 miles to Medway after arranging with a “mother” to have sex with her young daughter.
But when Colin Page arrived at Rochester railway station with baby oil, chocolate and jewellery he was promptly arrested.
The 50-year-old pervert then discovered the woman he had been contacting was a police officer.

Now, long-haired Page has been has been jailed for just under seven years after a judge found he was a danger to children.
Under the extended sentence for public protection, he will have to serve two thirds of the six years and eight months term before being considered for release and will be on licence for a further four years.
A judge told Page: “These offences are to any normal law-abiding member of the public revolting.”
Page had been locked up for four years for sex abuse of a young girl in 1995 and later twice breached sex offender notification requirements.

Maidstone Crown Court heard he went onto a website and made contact with a woman he thought was the mother of a six-year-old girl he could have intercourse with.
Discussions continued until arrangements were made for them to meet. He believed the mother would be present when he had sex with her daughter.
“These offences are, to any normal law-abiding member of the public, revolting” - Judge Jeremy Carey
He then travelled by train from his home in Alum Rock, Birmingham, West Midlands, to Rochester.
Craig Evans, defending, said Page immediately made admissions on arrest and pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
Mr Evans said the conclusion of a report that Page was dangerous was inevitable and could not be opposed.
Judge Jeremy Carey said the only possible mitigation was an admission that Page intended to have sex with a young girl.
“You were unable to control your perverted and depraved instincts even though you were subject to a sex offender programme and ‘better lives’ programme which you thought enabled you to keep your depravity under control,” he said.
“I have no hesitation whatsoever in concluding that you represent very great danger indeed to children of serious sexual offending.
“You are, therefore, in Criminal Justice terms and every day language a dangerous man. This is just about as serious a case of its kind as it could possibly be.”
A sexual harm prevention order was imposed and Page’s name will appear on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.
After sentencing, Detective Constable Jon Baker, of Kent Police's paedophile online investigation team, said: "Police use a number of methods to help identify people who prey on children and have a desire to sexually abuse them.
"Due to the team's online investigations, Page was swiftly identified and is now behind bars and away from the public."
