Two suspected burglars have been arrested after a break-in at a town's Sports Direct store.
The men were tracked down just 30 minutes after an alarm was triggered at the shop in Chatham High Street at 1am on Wednesday.
Officers located them nearby after a door had been reportedly forced open.
Items including clothing and shoes are said to have been stolen.
Several bags containing pairs of boxed trainers were recovered close to the store, police allege.
A police spokesman said: "The suspects had fled the scene when patrols arrived, and officers checked the surrounding streets and alleyways.
"The men were swiftly located, hiding within a bush.
"Aged 45 and 51, and both from Chatham, they were arrested in connection with burglary, going equipped for theft and for possessing a bladed article in public."
The men have been released from custody, pending further investigation.
