A man, who'd been invited to a house party, found himself repeatedly punched and put in a headlock while he was robbed of his possessions.
The victim was at a pub in Chatham at around 3am on Tuesday, January 12 when he was invited to the party in a property in Baden Road, Gillingham.
But in an unprovoked attack, two men who were at the house punched him several times before putting him in a headlock and robbing him.
The pair have now been jailed for the robbery. Leo Skerritt-Copeland, 23, of Melville Court, Chatham was sentenced to three years and four months, while Ricky Uden 22, of Albany Road, Chatham was sent to prison for five years.
During the robbery, Uden held the victime in a headlock whilst his possessions were stolen. This included a watch, jewellery, belt, mobile telephone and a wallet containing cash. They also took his car keys and stole his car which was parked outside the address.
Detective Constable Sasha Monck said: "This was a deliberate, unprovoked attack by two violent men that has had a significant effect on the victim.
"I would like to commend the victim for his courage and the witnesses for their support throughout the investigation."
Police enquiries identified the two offenders and they were arrested and charged with robbery. They were sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, November 18.
They were also sentenced for separate matters; Uden for possession of a bladed article and Skerritt-Copeland in relation to criminal damage and possession of a bladed article.
