Passenger injured when car crashes into wall in Upnor, near Rochester

A man has been seriously injured after a car collided with a wall.

Emergency services were called to Upnor Road in Rochester last night.

Police and paramedics attended the scene at about 10.15pm, after a car carrying two people smashed into the wall.

Fire crews were also called, with three fire engines arriving at the scene at about 11.40pm.

Crews used cutting equipment to free one of the occupants of the car who had been trapped by the crash, and passed them into the care of paramedics.

The passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a London hospital.

A police spokesman described his condition as “serious but not life threatening”.
