A pensioner who was killed after being hit by a motorbike has been named as Richard Kane.
The 89-year-old was struck by a blue Yamaha motorcycle in Dargets Road, Walderslade, at 5.20pm yesterday.
Mr Kane, who lived in nearby Cooper Road, is believed to have been trying to cross the road when he was knocked down and suffered extensive head injuries.
The pensioner and the biker, 23, were both taken to King's College Hospital in London.
The motorcyclist was discharged after suffering a minor leg injury, but Mr Kane later died.
The road to the junction with the Lordswood Lane roundabout was closed for more than six hours while officers investigated.
