A pensioner was punched in the face and robbed of his cash when two thugs stole an envelope full of money from him.
The 76-year-old man, who is from Rochester, had just withdrawn a substantial amount of cash from the Barclays Bank in Gillingham High Street, when he was robbed.
He had got back to his car in Mill Road when the he was approached by two black men who punched him and made off with his cash.
The to robbers ran off in the direction of the high street and the pensioner tried to chase them but lost sight of them in the Phoenix Court area of the town.
Detectives investigating the crime are appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to people who may have been at the bus stop at the top of Mill Road.
The robbery happened on Wednesday, April 14, at around 4.50pm.
Det Con Perry Wraight said: "We believe that a number of people were in the area at the time, particularly at the bus stop on Mill Road and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident take place or saw the chase which ensued."
