Fears that a man had been taking pictures of children in a school playground resulted in the police being called.
The alarm was raised at Bligh Primary School in Strood after pupils told staff a man was watching them while they were outside enjoying the sunshine.
When it was suggested pictures may have been taken, the school is understood to have called in a safeguarding officer and reported the matter to police.
A letter to parents from head teacher Christian Markham, seen by KentOnline, says safety remains the top priority and the incident is now being investigated.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 2.25pm on Thursday to a report of a man acting suspiciously in Bligh Way, Strood, and causing concern to children at a local school.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and a police community support officer is due to visit the school today to provide reassurance to those affected."
