Burger King could be coming back to a town's shopping centre.
Plans have been submitted by the American fast-food chain to Medway Council to build a new drive-thru at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre.
The unit will be 2,750 sq ft with drive-thru access and an eat-in restaurant.
The plans will reduce the number of parking spaces south of the multi-storey car park from 36 to 16.
A design and access statement submitted to the council states: "The unit will sit within an island and be screened by existing and new vegetation.
"The design and siteing of this new restaurant has been carefully considered and will add an additional facility to Hempstead Valley district centre.
"It is envisaged that this will part-serve existing customers and increase dwell time as well as benefitting the wider community."
It continued: "It is hoped that this application will be supported and will add a positive benefit to Hempstead Valley and the neighbouring areas."
A date for the proposal to be discussed has not yet been set.
There used to be a Burger King in the old food court in the centre but that closed when the area was revamped.
