A former restaurant which has been vacant for six months has received an application for change of use to also be able to operate as a takeaway.
A planning notice has been placed outside what used to be Bird, at Hempstead Valley, in Gillingham.
It states that an application has been submitted to the council for consideration for a change of use from a restaurant to a mixed use restaurant/takeaway.
The unit, which is located next to Frankie & Benny’s, has been vacant since mid December 2022 when the previous tenant, Bird, ceased trading.
The fried chicken and waffles joint had only opened in 2021 and it was its first and only Kent branch.
The planning document can be viewed and commented on here.
The site sits on a row of restaurants, and is opposite a drive-thru Burger King.
