The victim of a stabbing at Gillingham railway station has been arrested along with another man.

The 17-year-old from Dartford, who was stabbed outside the station on Tuesday, July 24, and a 20-year-old from Greenwich, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

They were arrested at their home addresses on Friday and Saturday.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Both arrested men have been bailed, pending further enquiries, and are due to return to police stations in Kent and London on August 31.

DS Leigh Marshall, leading the investigation for British Transport Police, said: "Following our appeal in local media I’d like to thank the public for their overwhelming response into this incident. We received lots of vital information which has greatly assisted our investigation."

Following the incident, a 17-year-old from Dartford was taken to Medway Hospital with two stab wounds to his chest and body, where he underwent surgery. He was later discharged and now, following further enquiries made by detectives, has been arrested.

The stabbing took place shortly before 6.15pm, after a fight involving a small group of men on a London-bound train.
