Police were called after a body was found on land near Rochester.
Officers were sent to the Wouldham Road area of Borstal shortly before 2pm yesterday, after the body of a man in his 40s was found by members of the public.
Witnesses reported seeing police officers searching woodland and bushes lining a pathway leading to the top of the motorway bridge off Warwick Crescent.
A resident from the village, who asked not to be named, said at the time: "I just tried walking under the motorway bridge with my dog towards the riverside but it was taped off. There's loads of police."
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
