Police cordon off house after man's death

A house was cordoned off by police after a man died suddenly at a property in Chatham.

Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to Chatham Hill, near the junction with Upper Luton Road, at 5.45pm yesterday.

The man died at the scene and is death is not being treated as suspicious.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said: "There was police tape across the front of the house, several police cars and a couple of ambulances."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Police in Medway were called to an address on Chatham Hill at about 5.45pm on Monday, April 25, following a sudden death.

"A man was being treated by the South East Coast Ambulance but died at the scene. Officers attended the address and cordoned off the area. The death is not being treated as suspicious."

A crew from Kent Fire and Rescue was also called to the scene to provide screening while the body was removed.

The age of the man is unknown.
