Police cordon off part of Blue Boar Lane in Rochester after assault

Two men were taken to hospital after a reported assault near a high street.

Police and paramedics were called to Blue Boar Lane in Rochester at about 5am yesterday and part of the road was cordoned off.

Two men in their 20s were reportedly assaulted by two other men.

They were treated for facial injuries, which are not described as life-threatening, at the scene.

The pair were then taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

An investigation into the incident is underway.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are being asked to call the appeal line on 01634 792209, quoting 46/211884/24.

Motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
